New #Insentricity post: Using a #FujiNet as a pseudo "#MIDI" controller to send #OSC messages to a #TRS80 CoCo 2! It was great being inspired to do something with my CoCo 2 and get it off the shelf. Learned a lot about the internals and it wasn't what I expected at all. Already have more idea brewing based on my discoveries!

New #Insentricity post: Getting #Linux to boot on a Toshiba T5200, a 386 luggable with only 4MB of RAM. Linux doesn’t love being this RAM-starved, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be done. The biggest challenge? Compatibility: LOADLIN’s supposed bzImage support and getting Linux to work with my impossibly large (for the period) hard drive.

New #Insentricity post: Transforming Apple Internet Router into a Linux daemon.
It took until the middle of April, but with the help of several people I was able to put together a Docker container image that can be used as a sort of Apple Internet Router daemon. The config can be passed in entirely from outside the container and no pointy/clicky is required inside the emulated Macintosh.

Transforming a Mac 68k program into a Linux Daemon
Just a few days before the end of #MARCHintosh a call went out over Mastodon asking if anyone had an Apple IIe with an Apple Workstation Card . The hope was that someone could try to use it to join the #GlobalTalk network. While I have the hardware required, I had been reluctant to try and participate in GlobalTalk. Many posts had gone by my feed about the steps required to join and it looked like quite a bit of work. I replied that I had the hardware available but wasn't sure about being...
InsentricityNew #Insentricity post! Repairing a Legend Industries 1MB RAM card for an #AppleII. I was overwhelmed when I got it, since I had no schematic and all the ICs tested good off the board. It was quite a journey but I was able to figure it out and learned a lot while doing it. First time I've ever reverse engineered a PCB.

Look at That S'Card Go!
When I got the #ForestApples many years ago, one of them came with a 16k Language Card clone in slot zero, and another RAM card in slot one. The Language Card clone had a ribbon cable going to the RAM socket at E3 as usual. The other RAM card also had its own ribbon cable going to another RAM socket! It looked like there were two Language Cards installed, something I had never seen before. I soon discovered that the extra RAM card was a Legend Industries 64KC. It had 64k of RAM instead of a...
