Ah, the eternal struggle of understanding C declarations: now with ✨visual aids✨ because reading parentheses was just too mainstream. 🤓 Apparently, #GitHub thinks #AI can make this chaos look "better"—but only after you navigate through a labyrinth of buzzwords and a dozen toggles. #InnovationOrInsanity 🤷‍♂️

Oh joy! Another tale of technological overkill: turning a perfectly functional fan into a WiFi-enabled monstrosity because, obviously, pushing a button is so last century. 🌬️💻 Next up, let's teach our toasters to tweet! #InnovationOrInsanity 🤦‍♂️

My Fan Worked Fine, So I Gave it WiFi

I designed a fully revertible modification for a Vornado 633DC fan so I could control it remotely over WiFi. The final result is concealed entirely within the fan’s housing, leaving no visible modification. If you’re interested in building one yourself, the schematic, BoM, and PCB design are all available here. In terms of firmware, I used ESPHome with an external component, for which the source code is available here. The rest of this post covers the research and development that went into the project.

🎩🤔 "Replace #Kubernetes with systemd" they said, because apparently using a hammer to fix a computer makes total sense. 😂 Why innovate when you can just duct tape your way to 2024, right? #TechGenius #InnovationOrInsanity

Replacing Kubernetes with systemd

In this post I go through the journey of overusing Kubernetes and how systemd can actually do most of what I use it for.
