Day 19 — Loop
From the loop around the wrists of bodies in mass graves
To the loops around the wrists of protesting students
The loop of history dooms us once again
As we travel this loop of life from non–existence to non–existence.

Palestine was taken over by the United Kingdom after World War I (and a shady scheme with some other European countries as part of a land grab) which then helped start the resettlement of European Jews (because of racism) before Israel seized more land and oppressed Palestinians. The United States (a former colony of Great Britain, aka. United Kingdom, which committed its own genocide of local Indigenous population) provides financial and weapons support to Israel (also because of racism—in multiple ways) which it uses to oppress Palestinians (yes: racist).
There has been a long chain of colonial and imperialistic actions that have led us to this point. We need to say “no more!”

White phosphorus is an ingredient in a smoke screen that burns very hot when exposed to oxygen and can burn to the bone, cause serious respiratory distress, and potentially death. It is against international norms (and law for countries that have agreed to abide by such) to use in civilian populated areas.
