"The #InfectedBloodInquiry’s final report said it was “indefensible” that the former health minister insisted there was “no conclusive proof” that Aids could be spread through blood in summer 1983, repeating the line for several years"

There's no such thing as 'a good one'.

Ken Clarke misled the public over infected blood risks, report finds

Former health minister said there was ‘no conclusive proof’ that Aids could be spread through blood

At the final report of the #InfectedBloodInquiry and I have to say sir Brian is the very representative of ethics, integrity and clarity. If you want to understand ethics on a medical or governmental level, you should watch his final speech. It was delayed by 10 minutes of standing ovations. His conclusions are the most comprehensive, evidence based paper I have ever read.

So much emotion here today. #haemophilia . There is an odd feeling of validation, recognition and fury for all here.

#health #uk #healthcare #InfectedBloodInquiry #scandal #government #nhs #sirbrianlangstaff #aids #hepatitis #infection #victims #disease Sir Brian Langstaff and his team have gone above and beyond with today’s infected blood scandal report. What an absolutely brilliant piece of work. If only we had people like him in government.

The #infectedbloodinquiry will publish its findings today.

It will not mention compensation.

That will take another 20 more years.

Bet I am not wrong x

This is possibly one of the best Substack blogs around. Father & Son - Prof Lawrence Freedman (War, Foreign Policy) & Sam (detailed UK policy analysis). It rises above the click-bait & quick takes - they write lengthy, thought out, detailed stuff.

This particular piece by Sam I almost filed away for later. But glad I made the time for it.
