Tesla: the fight for collective bargaining continues 

A year on, the fight for a collective agreement with car manufacturer Tesla continues for Swedish union IF Metall. To demonstrate the ongoing solidarity with the striking workers and their union, industriAll Europe’s General Secretary Judith Kirton-Darling, together with ETUC General secretary Esther Lynch visit a Tesla picket line in Stockholm today.

Samsung electronics workers announce indefinite strike

The National Samsung Electronics Union (NSEU) in South Korea has mobilized 6,000 members to join the first strike in the 55-year history of Samsung Electronics at the company’s semiconductor facility in Hwaseong. The strike was called over failed collective bargaining negotiations and union busting.

Poor wage offer escalates conflict in Austrian metal industry

Trade unions PRO-GE and GPA have extended the strikes in the Austrian metal industry after the latest round of negotiations on 13 November failed to produce results after 11 hours of talks.

Tesla conflict in Sweden escalates

As electric car manufacturer Tesla refused to engage in negotiations on a collective agreement, Swedish union IF Metall realised it’s strike warnings on 27 October. With opposition to Tesla’s anti-union attitude growing, other Swedish unions are taking solidarity action to protect the right to collective bargaining. Unions in Norway are set to join the protest.

Minimum wage protests continue in Bangladesh
