#Palestine before the #Nakba had several major #cities, and also #vibrant #rural areas and small #villages. It was very #diverse in its #ecology from one #region to another.

It's important to learn about Palestinian ecology. It is central to #EverydayLife, including #food, #history, #culture, and #economy. It records Palestinian #indigeneity. And it's #weaponized by #zionism.

I just did a #DeepDive and wrote a #zine about #ecological #colonization in Palestine, to share with my #SJP branch.

The Land Is Our History by Miranda C. L. Johnson, 2016

Indigeneity, Law, and the Settler State
The Land Is Our History tells the story of indigenous legal activism at a critical political and cultural juncture in Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. In the late 1960s, indigenous activists protested assimilation policies and the usurpation of their lands as a new mining boom took off, radically threatening their collective identities.

"The Palestinian Arabs wanted Palestine because they lived there. The Zionists demanded it because the land had been promised by their God "Yahwa" which promise was later confirmed by "Balfour", ratified by the League of Nations, and finally, by the United Nations. For the Zionists it was a "return" full of mystical significance. For the Arabs, it was simply another invasion."

First Nations, Inuit and Red River Métis call for unity in fight against Indigenous identity fraud

During a summit on Indigenous identity fraud May 15, a declaration was unanimously adopted by the northern Labrador Inuit, Ontario First Nations and Red River Métis denouncing the Indigenous identity claims of the NunatuKavut Community Council. The NunatuKavut Community Council was formerly known as the Labrador Métis Association and then the Labrador Métis Nation. The council represents a group of 6,000 people in Labrador who self-identify as Indigenous.
