Dear fellow #Indians! Why? What part of your #education, #sanskaar, #culture or #upbringing motivates you to do this? Why such contempt for other cultures? Is this some sort of #conquest #fetish?
People #travel to learn & experience #places, #cultures and #cuisine that aren't our own. You're ruining it for us too.
PS: If you're an Indian who hates this too, please fight this perversion. Or we'll all lose the privilege to experience & enjoy the world one day.

Agi: Dalle toffee 'Melody' al tormentone social 'Melodi'
AGI - Non solo diplomazia, infrastrutture e dossier strategici.
From the toffee ‘Melody’ to the social hit ‘Melodi’
AGI - Not just diplomacy, infrastructure, and strategic dossiers. Narendra Modi’s visit to Rome also included space for a small gesture of strong symbolic value: the Indian Prime Minister gifted Giorgia Meloni a package of Melody Toffee, one of the most popular candies in India. The Prime Minister shared the moment of exchange on social media, calling the sweet “very, very good,” while Indian media immediately interpreted the gesture as an ironic reference to the catchphrase “Melodi,” a fusion of the surnames Meloni and Modi that had gone viral on Indian social media.
Melody Toffee are not just a simple candy. Caramel-filled chocolate toffee produced by Parle, a historic Indian biscuit and confectionery brand, are for the Asian country what Italian Baci Perugina or Caffarel Gianduiotti might be for us.
Their most famous slogan, “Melody itni chocolaty kyun hai?”, meaning “Why is Melody so chocolaty?”, has been part of the country’s advertising imagery for years.
The value of the gift also lies in the history of the brand. Parle was founded in Mumbai, in the Vile Parle neighborhood, in the 1920s, in a context linked to the swadeshi movement, meaning the promotion of Indian production against dependence on foreign products. The company was founded to compete with European confectionery and became, over time, synonymous with sweets with a distinctly Indian flavor, with products such as Kismi, Poppins, Mango Bite, Rola Cola, and, of course, Melody.
For this reason, the package delivered to Meloni can be read as an object of soft power, a fragment of popular culture recognizable by millions of Indians.
