So, I talk to the dude from Bluff City Vice (the singer from my #1 favorite record of last year, S2PID) sometimes and the other day he mentioned his favorite album of 2024, which was this-- True Green's 'My Lost Decade'. The dude from BCV knew Dan Hornsby when Dan was in Memphis, but now Dan does True Green out of Indiana.

Too late for consideration for my list, but this record is WILD. Kinda indie folk-punik lo-fi stuff, I hear some Dylan and some other things. Check out the lyrics-- track 3 especially, if you're not hooked by then, well, I don't know what to tell ya.

Dan's wife sings on this, too, you'll hear it. REALLY cool, killer record.

ATAVISTIC DECAY are from Indianapolis, Illinois and they make some grueling, doomy cavernous OSDM style metal that I've been listening to all year. Their 'Demo MMXXIV' came out in January and this one has been a treat for all of 2024 so it's about time I hit it up for #ThursDeath.

Was going to keep this for next Music Women Wednesday, but it's too good. Discovered Indianapolis, Indiana's RADAR GOLD today because they're playing with another of my favorite bands, Bingo Boys.

Radar Gold is a wife/husband duo. This first album of theirs, 'Planet Sings' from 2020 is a must hear for fans of That Dog, Ladytron, The Rentals, Lisa Loeb, or even Devo like I am. The drums, her voice, the catchy songs -- just wait til you get to track 3, 'Painted Void'. The whole thing is BRILLIANT. 🌍🎙️

I've talked about Indianapolis' scuzz-punk kings BINGO BOYS before, but today I want to highlight their 2021 record 'More'. These songs are ALL bangers, as usual (fun fact about Bingo Boys, they don't even know how to write bad songs that aren't infectiously catchy).

I hope to someday be able to write a song that is as damn good as 'Glow' or 'Spidersac' here -- these tunes SMOKE. 🔥

I mentioned Bingo Boys' 2023 record 'Freak Out & Leave' in February, how I was upset I somehow missed it last year. They're from Indianapolis, Indiana and make some incredible catchy, melodic psych-ish garage/punk.

I've been going through their back catalog today and they don't even have bad songs. 🤯
