@Pandya there is only one Free Software UPI app, which is still in development by https://github.com/librefin-in They did a demo of making UPI payment at #IndiaFOSS early this year, but the app is not ready to use yet.

Would you volunteer to organize a national #FreeSoftware conference in India?

Many of us in #FSCI who attended #IndiaFOSS or looked at the accepted vs rejected talks felt the focus is more on Open Source / products rather than philosophy or communities. So we want to organize something that is explicitly focused on Free Software and communities.

Looking forward to the next #CoMaps update…it’s gonna have a lot of #Hindi names.

I usually set the map language in CoMaps to Hindi. Hindi is a less phonetically ambiguous language than English, so it helps me (and other Hindi speakers) know how to correctly pronounce names.

Often, I’ll browse around in CoMaps, looking for place names which are still in English despite the Hindi setting (which means they don’t have a Hindi name on OSM). I then use the “Open in another app” button and add the Hindi name using #Vespucci.

Since I took a train to Bangalore for #IndiaFOSS, I also added Hindi names for a number of stations along the way. There are quite a few funny names in there! (The things you miss out on when you take a flight instead of a train…)
