The original #transgender #pride flag was designed by Monica Helms in 1999 as a symbol of #trans #diversity and rights. Helms, a trans activist and Navy veteran, debuted the flag at a #Pride parade in Phoenix in 2000. The pink and blue stripes represent traditional #gender colors, while the white stands for those who are #intersex, transitioning, or identify outside the binary.
