For anyone else who has Procreate (or Affinity, etc) this is how I set up to plan paint colours.

First image is the official Warhammer shot of Inara Sion. I used the built in iPad photo editor to remove colour and adjust the image to retain shadows and highlights, but lighten it so I can ‘paint’ over it.

The second image is my typical layer setup in Procreate that allows me to experiment with colours, shading, details etc. Blend modes let you see the image behind the paints, rather than blocking with pure colour. Feel free to experiment.

Once I’m happy, I then get the paints out.

I use a cheap (€20) pencil, rather than the Apple one on this tablet. Don’t find a difference.
