I'd like to refer to my review of Lean's This happy breed (1944), if you want to read some more about his earlier movies (until 1955). In which we serve had the same amount of awe from my part. I really enjoy this movie period and especially 40s movies made in the UK. Let's not forget the genius work Brief Encounter, how could we... ever. Through a series of flash backs several of the crew of a sunken British Battleship recount their lives from the start of the war until the day of the sinking. Brilliant cast including NoΓ«l Coward
