First impression of #Beijing, being here for the first time in 7yrs: Stuck in traffic on a 10 lane highway, i opened the taxi window expecting to gulp fumes… Instead, the air was clean, and so quiet I could hear birds singing. No engine noise, no screaming motos. Most cars I could see, and every scooter, was electric. The occasional engine noise, as an ICE vehicle accelerates, sounds strangely clunky and archaic. Whilst recognising that the capital is always going to be ahead of the rest of the county, comparing this to london, one gets the clear impression that China is very, very far ahead. #RE100 #china Ruby Chorbajian Climate Group
