This c1760 AD Provincial #MughalArt #IndianMiniaturePainting from #Awadh #India of 'Khan Jahan Bahadur Kokaltash Khan, Hawking' from Sir John Soane's Album now at Soane #Museum once belonged to Sir Elijah Impey, Chief Justice of #EastIndiaCompany Court at #Calcutta #Bengal as identified by his seal dated 1775 AD on the reverse.
Soane assembled the album in 1823 AD, buying some #Impey #Paintings upon Elijah's death.

The dispersed #ImpeyAlbum is one of the finest collection of Natural History #Paintings made for the #British in #India & rarely come on the #Art market, most of them now in #Museums around the world
