This week's parasha includes the famous phrase

צדק צדק תרדוף

"#Justice! Pursue justice!" (Deut. 16:20)

What does this mean in practice? Well, the preceding verse gives us a clue:

לא־תטה משפט לא תכיר פנים ולא־תקח שחד כי השחד יעור עיני חכמים ויסלף דברי צדיקם

"You shall not judge unfairly: you shall show no partiality; you shall not take bribes, for bribes blind the eyes of the discerning and upset the plea of the just." (Deut. 16:19)

To my understanding, #Christians accept the "moral commandments" (as opposed to "ritual commandments") of the #Torah. My question then is: why are so many self-proclaimed Christians—like, say, just as a totally random example, #JusticeThomas, or, another entirely random example, the current occupant of the White House—so willing to transgress these commandments?
