Suusyövän kulkua pystytään ehkä tulevaisuudessa ennakoimaan nykyistä paremmin. Turkulaistutkijat tunnistivat suun imusuonista muutoksia, jotka näyttävät ennustavan muun muassa syövän uusiutumista paremmin kuin mikään muu aiemmin tunnettu suusyövän riskitekijä.
