Some storm chances exist across northern IL tonight, though chances ramp-up areawide Tuesday afternoon and evening as a cold front shifts over the area. Isolated to widely scattered thunderstorms are possible tonight especially north of I-88, but confidence on if they will actually develop remains low. If storms occur they could be strong to possibly severe. A better coverage of thunderstorms is expected Tuesday afternoon/evening. Some of these storms could be severe as well with the threat of damaging winds and large hail.
