Swinging Mace is some killer deathy shit. The whole thing is great, but the last song is "They Live", and it's an epic that's over 9 minutes long. 'Necrotic Terror' is a damn cool record and I keep coming back to it lately.

Please be forewarned, this week's #GrindayFriday is a nasty one. Art can intend to offend, correct? Well, I've listened to this disgusting album often. It's catchy. Rock Island, Illinois' goregrind outfit SLOP FOUNTAIN put out their first (and so far only) EP in 2021, entitled Sloppy Seconds, and here it is, in all its horrifying glory. Some extremely gross, fast (but dynamic) songs.

This week's #GrindayFriday is some excellent deathgrind/goregrind. It has a good bit of death, and there are some really great riffy breakdowns.

I personally think Aurora, Illinois' MELTING ROT is one of the best deathgrind/goregrind bands out there.

Their first EP is great, but they really refined and improved their sound on this, their 2021 full length 'Blood Delusions'. It's rough, fast, and yeah, has that maniacal snare.

A new find for this week's #ThursDeath, another band I found via a flyer of a band I dig (I forget who) since both bands are playing together soon.

Chicago's VOIMATON play a great, chuggy mix of death doom that is infectious. It's tough to make a full length death metal album and make the whole thing damn great, but Voimaton definitely did with 2022's 'Profane Vestige'.
