Ike & Tina Turnerโ€™s Kings of Rhythm Dance is an instrumental album by the Kings of Rhythm, released on Sue Records in 1962.

AllMusic editor Richie Unterberger wrote:

Although the 14 tracks on this album are very typical early-'60s rock/R&B instrumentals in their tunes and arrangements, Ike Turner's guitar work is sparkling, lifting the LP out of the generic realm... Ike Turner really squeezes the last drop of invention out of these run-of-the-mill backdrops, though, relentlessly bending notes, wangling the whammy bar, and letting loose with some unpredictable runs and aggressive chording - Wikipedia

This got me dancing in the flat!

A Black Man's Soul is an instrumental album by musician Ike Turner & the Kings of Rhythm. It was released on Pompeii Records in 1969.

The album received positive reviews. Bill E. Burk wrote for the Memphis Press-Scimitar (May 23, 1969):

Ike Turner and The Kings of Rhythm show again why they pack the house at Club Paradise each time they come to Memphis. The group really digs out with an uptempo soul, the better selections being "Funky Mule," "Thinking Black," "Black Beauty," which you must wonder whether it is dedicated to Ike's wife, Tina, and Rufus Thomas' all-time soulful favorite, "Philly Dog." - Wikipedia

Women In Rock And Roll: Breaking The Silence On Male Violence - VBMGZN

The history of rock and roll celebrates rebellion and freedom, but for decades women in the industry have endured systematic violence and exploitation. 67% of women in the US music industry report experiencing sexual harassment ERIC, with 37.1% of women experiencing intimate partner violence CBC throughout their lives. Icons like Tina Turner broke decades of silence when she detailed sixteen years of abuse by Ike Turner in her 1986 autobiography, sparking conversations when domestic violence was rarely discussed publicly. Courtney Love warned about industry predators years before MeToo. Kathleen Hanna and the riot grrrl movement created alternative spaces where women could make music safely. This article explores how women rockers have confronted male violenceโ€”from intimate partner abuse to industry-wide exploitationโ€”and examines why the music industry remains complicit in allowing predatory behavior to persist.
