Because a significant portion of the regime's fascist efforts to crush dissent revolves around their fact-free declaration that opposing a US-backed genocide in Gaza, being conducted by Israel, is actually antisemitism (and also a foreign policy matter that is beyond regulation due to presidential powers over foreign affairs), the ruling class establishment that supported that genocide even when it belonged to Biden, has a vested interest in presenting Jewish Americans as a unified bloc standing in opposition to anti-genocide protestors in support of Israel and the Zionist agenda. After all, the narrative that all of this monstrous bullshit is being done to protect Jewish people falls apart very quickly once you realize that vast numbers of American Jews are actively against all this fascist, genocidal bullshit; so that latter fact has to be kept from the American public, lest they become wise to the reality that this is all just a propaganda op to justify arms sales, genocide, and fascist repression of folks ideological opposed to the regime.

The reality however, is quite different from the picture you're allowed to see on television; Jewish Americans are actually massively overrepresented in the anti-genocide protest movement, and a vibrant, growing collage of Jewish left organizations are risking the personal safety of their members to vigorously oppose a fascist regime and say, quite directly, that not only are the regime's actions putting Jewish people in danger, they will not allow genocide, deportations, and fascist repression to be conducted "in their name."

For more about this hidden, but not secret story, let's turn to this deep dive by Shane Burley into the rise of Jewish left resistance in America to settler colonial occupation, genocide, and the fascist Trump regime's attempts to deport student protestors under the guise of combatting antisemitism:

Jewish Organizations Are Fighting Back Against Khalil Deportation

“This year, all over the U.S., Jews are holding emergency Passover Seders calling for the release of Mahmoud Khalil and an end to the criminalization of all those calling for an end to the Israeli government’s genocide of the Palestinian people,” JVP said as it announced the action. This seder is part of a long tradition of using Jewish rituals as a protest tactic, uniting the prophetic spiritual tradition of Judaism with the practical strategies of physical resistance and blockade. This action, offered with relatively short notice and promising to mobilize huge numbers of Jews and allies, is the result of the relationships that have been built across Jewish organizations as they try to confront the repression coming in Trump’s second term.

“We’re building a new coalition right now. Because not all of us have been in the same space together,” Lily Greenberg Call, a member of the New York City chapter of the Jewish anti-Occupation group IfNotNow, called into a megaphone on March 20. “But it is more important than ever now to reach for each other and unite for our communities and our neighbors who are under attack,” she told the thousand people who had flooded the streets of lower Manhattan, the historic home of the U.S. Jewish left. “People in this city have been abducted, separated from their families, thrown in detention camps, and threatened with deportation.”

Frankly, I don't really have a lot to add here because speaking for Jewish Americans who oppose fascism being conducted in their name really isn't my lane. Burley's extensive documentation of how Jewish resistance groups are banding together all across the country is however informative, and enlightening given a media environment where even critics of the Trump regime who still support genocidal Zionist objectives in Gaza are unprepared to report on that resistance. The obvious reality here is that no matter what the ADL says, a fascist regime stacked to the brim with antisemite nazis, doesn't give a flying fuck about combatting antisemitism, and fully intends to use the mere existence of Jewish people and antisemitism in our society, as the spear point for their transformation of America into an over fascist dictatorship - and that's a story, you just won't hear on the Six O'clock News.

Hey concerned, distressed, alarmed fellow citizens of the US! When is the next day of collective action? The April 5th "Hands Off" rallies were great but the admin is rapidly dismantling every Constitutional protection we have. Kinda of ironic that a county founded on the principle that you can't lock someone up and throw away the key is doing just that.

Would love to know if folks are gathering on street corners again as they did on April 5.

While many are gathering this weekend to hold seders on the first nights of Passover,
a number of Jewish organizations are inviting us back into the streets to take the message of liberation further.

On Monday, April 14, the anti-Zionist group "Jewish Voice for Peace" (JVP) will lead over a thousand Jews in a Passover seder directly in front of the New York City headquarters of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

This “emergency seder” is part of their now weeks long campaign, led in coalition with other Jewish leftist organizations, to confront Trump’s mass deportations and, specifically, the targeting of former Columbia student Mahmoud Khalil.

„Over the last year and a half, the movement for Palestinian liberation has become one of the largest American #socialmovements of the decade. Not only that, there has also been an incredible resurgence of the Jewish left, as Jewish Palestine solidarity organizations, such as #IfNotNow and #JewishVoiceforPeace, organize a growing contingent of young Jews for an end to the genocide in Gaza.“

I struggle with #Chanukah on a good year. A minor holiday, politicized from its inception, caught up over there in serving nationalism and here in competitive consumerism (maybe they compete with Christmas in Tel Aviv too; I bet they do), but I am absolutely lighting those candles and saying those prayers and frying those latkes and dragging them through the old apple sauce I found in the back of the fridge every night for the next eight nights because I like fire and latkes rock and fuck if I’m going to let zionist genocidaires and their fearful, hateful, brainwashed politically ignorant dupes in the American Jewish so-called mainstream (though numbers suggest otherwise) and the asshole allies of those assholes—a gazillion fash-friendly Christian Zionist cultists who want us all dead—lay claim uncontested to what’s good in my, our, traditions.

We are inheritors of a nearly two thousand year old cultural system designed to enact, sustain and reproduce community and autonomy without recourse to the inherent violence of hierarchy or the real violence of the state. Jewish practice demands and exalts critical thinking. It celebrates empathy and responsibility. It invites us to shake a fist at authority. And question god. It’s anarchist af. It asks us to heal the world!

Racist blood-lusting nationalist apartheid colonialism in the name of Judaism is a freak, an oxymoron, ridiculous if it wasn’t so deadly, an embarrassment, irredeemable, a stain, beneath contempt. Israel is a shonda.

So yeah. #HappyHanukkah everyone! #FreePalestine. End Netanyahu’s exterminationist forever wars. No quarter for fascists even if you have pics together from the photo booth at your bat mitzvah. And all the love forever to my #antizionist, #anticapitalist, #antiauthoritarian and of course #antifascist Jews out there tonight.

Light the candles. Eat the greasy potatoes. Make this dark corner of the year a little brighter. And let’s remember: as they stand naked in moral failure before the entire population of the planet, as they are marked indelibly by a shame they’ll never be brave enough to see, Jewish Zionists are doing their Judaism wrong too.

#IfNotNow #NotInMyName #NeverAgain means #NeverAgainForAnyone ever. #FuckIsrael #FightFascism #FromTheRiverToTheSea means whatever Palestinians want it to mean. #EndTheGenocide #SaveGaza #BDS the fuck out of that pathetic little Sparta and #BDSTheUSA too while you’re at it. #AntizionismIsNotAntisemitism, of course, and, let’s not ever let anyone get it twisted, #ZionismIsNotJudaism. 🙂🖤🔥

..and if you have the patience and they’re able, think about watching #Israelism with your fam to help them start deprogramming from the lifetime of lies and bullshit about Israel and its history that American Jews internalize in the course of (in most cases) just earnestly trying to learn about and practice their culture and religion. Unless you want to just give up on them. I think sometimes that’s healthy choices. #TikkunOlam
