Took forever to grind for some home brew #turkishcoffee ... but I just made my first cup. Well, technically two cups worth ;)

And oh man! Gave a good foam that sadly didn't last, but not really bitter at all.

I won't make it often for fear of grinding to a flare up of tennis elbow, LOL.

But, I now might have spoiled myself :)

#coffee #cezve #ibrik

Good morning, world! Time for a #coffee #TurkishCoffee #Cezve #Ibrik

I posted a pic of my coffee this morning, but immediately imagined people would coffee shame me. I like what i like. There is an idea that the cool people do anything but drip and take their coffee black. Idk.

I take my coffee with milk (or milk products or soy/almond milk) & sugar & drink via drip machine certain flavored coffee (mint, hazelnut, irish cream) or reg*. I do have a #frenchpress, a cute gravity contraption, #ibrik, &espresso thingy. I've made my own cold brew and loved it.

Ohh the #ibrik looks cool. B-day present for myself!

@awinter Ah, I wish I had a mortar for my spices! Have you tried brewing coffee in an #ibrik? It's stupid simple and adding ground spices exactly the way you describe is traditional to many areas.

This is the recipe I recently used to make #TurkishCoffee (in the previous post). Traditionally, I believe it's made very slowly. This one is faster (2:30). I used 12g of coffee for 180ml of water, which is weaker than his suggestion. I put 1 tsp of sugar in, but I think I can do without it next time.

I tried making #TurkishCoffee once more. This time, I was more careful with the foam. You can see it forming a "head" in the #cezve (aka #ibrik) while on the stove. I used a spoon to scoop it into the cup, then poured the #coffee in along the side of the cup. It's all rather gritty, & I'm still not sure I'm doing it correctly.

11g coffee
1 tsp sugar
190ml water
