Donald Trump è deciso a farla pagare ai Paesi dell’Ue che, in questi mesi, hanno rifiutato di concedere l’uso delle proprie basi per condurre attacchi contro l’Iran. L’indiscrezione arriva da Reuters, che ha preso visione di un’email interna del Pentagono nella quale vengono ipotizzate una serie di misure che gli Stati Uniti potrebbero intraprendere nei confronti dei loro alleati Nato più riluttanti.
A rischiare di più è senza dubbio la Spagna. Il Paese iberico, citato nel documento, è accusato sia di non aver concesso l’uso delle basi, sia di aver più volte denunciato che il conflitto contro l’Iran è illegale in quanto “contrario al diritto internazionale”. Ma nel mirino finisce anche il Regno Unito del primo ministro Keir Starmer che, sempre secondo il documento, potrebbe spingere la Casa Bianca a valutare una revisione della posizione statunitense sulla rivendicazione britannica delle Isole Falkland, da tempo oggetto di disputa con l’Argentina.
Scartata, almeno per il momento e sempre secondo quanto riportato da Reuters, l’ipotesi, più volte ventilata da Trump, di un ritiro degli Stati Uniti dalla NATO, così come quella di una possibile chiusura delle basi americane in Europa.

Di fronte a queste indiscrezioni, il premier spagnolo Pedro Sánchez si è detto sorpreso. Ha quindi precisato che il governo di Madrid, nelle proprie scelte, “non si basa su email”, ma su “documenti ufficiali e posizioni governative, in questo caso degli Stati Uniti”. Quel che è certo, ha aggiunto, è che nemmeno queste ulteriori pressioni convinceranno il Paese a cambiare linea.
Anzi, ha ribadito che il divieto all’uso delle basi militari, in particolare quella navale di Rota e quella aerea di Morón, in Andalusia, resterà in vigore. Continuerà inoltre a essere negato anche l’uso dello spazio aereo ai mezzi impegnati nell’operazione degli Stati Uniti e di Israele contro il regime degli ayatollah.

L'Unità: Caro benzina, lezione spagnola a Meloni: Sanchez taglia al 10% l’Iva sui carburanti, così scenderanno di 40 cent

I tagli alle stazioni di rifornimento si vedono a macchia di leopardo, con numero pompe di carburante che costano una notevole lentezza nell’adeguarsi al decreto del governo Meloni che mercoledì sera ha tagliato di 20 centesimi le accise per fare fronte ai rincari del greggio sui mercati internazionali, scossi dall’intervento di Stati Uniti ed Israele contro l’Iran e dalla rappresaglia della Repubblica Islamica nello stretto di Hormuz, dove è sostanzialmente fermo il 20 per cento del traffico mondiale di petrolio.
“Le rilevazioni effettuate da nostri associati nella giornata odierna, presso diversi distributori, mostrano prezzi sostanzialmente invariati», lamentava giovedì l’associazione di autotrasporti Ruote Libere. Proteste simili dal Codacons, secondo cui il taglio deciso dal governo di Giorgia Meloni “ancora non si è visto alla pompa”.
Ha deciso di agire diversamente da quanto fatto da Meloni e soci il governo di Madrid. In Spagna l’esecutivo socialista di Pedro Sanchez, che può fare i conti tra l’altro su una economia nazionale in forte crescita da anni, al contrario di quella nostrana ancora a numeri da prefisso telefonico, ha scelto di non agire sulle accise.
Il governo ha deciso infatti di ridurre l’Iva sui carburanti dal 21% al 10%, oltre all’eliminazione dell’imposta speciale sugli idrocarburi, con un calo stimato di 30-40 centesimi al litro su diesel e benzina.
Le misure sono state presentate dal governo spagnolo ai gruppi parlamentari e saranno approvate oggi dal Consiglio dei ministri, secondo quanto anticipato da media iberici, fra cui radio Cadena Ser. Un taglio molto pesante davanti a dei prezzi che, rispetto a quelli italiani prima del dl carburanti, erano decisamente inferiori.
Sanchez al lavoro anche per la riduzione delle imposte sull’elettricità, con la cancellazione della tassa speciale del 5% e la riduzione dell’imposta sul valore della produzione elettrica. Sul fronte sociale invece è previsto il rafforzamento del bonus sociale elettrico e il divieto di sospensione delle fornitura per i nuclei familiari vulnerabili. Tuttavia, il pacchetto escluderebbe interventi sul blocco degli affitti o il divieto di sfratti in esecuzione, richiesti dalle forze di sinistra che fanno parte della maggioranza.
