Fakat hatırladığım kadarıyla Zatoichi kör değildi!

Diğer duyularını geliştirmek için gözlerini kullanmıyordu!

ZATOİCHİ KILINÇ SAHNESİ

Curious about #aikido #kenjutsu #iaijutsu #budo peeps and their experiences with polyproylene bokken, out there.

Will forever be grateful for the opportunity to practice Katori Shinto Ryu in this lifetime. It reminds me of the saying, “When the student is ready, the master will appear.” Sensei appeared in my inbox through a newsletter at the perfect time last June. 🙏🙂🌸

Situation : Your opponent is threatening you with the point of his sword at your throat. move : You step back in a unique Kyoshin-no-Kurai(脅身の位) frightened pose and wait for your chance. When you get the chance, you strike off your opponent's tip with the hilt of your sword. Then you draw your sword, make a small jump, and cut your opponent's forearm while shifting your left and right legs back and forth(虎乱刀 Koranto). 天心流兵法 世田谷支部の稽古より、保田支部長による尾外抜(おとばつ)。 対者に切っ先突きつけられ、脅身の位から剣先を柄払い虎乱刀を用います。"

The #sword #tsuka I receive for wrapping often look like this: beat to absolute hell. The people I work with are generally practitioners rather than wealthy collectors. It gives me a lot of satisfaction to know that my work will be used and enjoyed as a practical part of keeping #iaijutsu and #kenjutsu alive. Plus, these guys give me a lot of repeat business because they actually use their swords!

This #kenjutsu #technique first #parries the #opponent's #sword with one's own #blade held vertical. Then the #swordsman steps forward under the blades, suddenly turning the sword to present the blade's flank, causing the opponent's sword to slide upward.
After a quick horizontal cut to the opponent's arm, we withdraw with a circular step and bat the opponent's blade aside.

Another thing about me time!

I'm a former #MartialArtist. I studied My Jong Law Horn #KungFu for years. It was pretty high-impact (fractured a metatarsal, broke my nose once) so I took it easy afterward and studied a little bit of #TaiChiChuan.

Years later I took up #Aikido and Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu alongside #Kenjutsu and #Iaijutsu.

Now I'm a lump whose idea of exercise is going up and down stairs. 😉

Battôjutsu 抜刀術 is the art of drawing the long or short sword (katana 刀 or wakizashi 脇差) at lightning speed to anticipate an attack. In addition to drawing and defensive techniques, Battô trains above all an eye for detail, constant awareness of one's surroundings (zanshin 残心), the ability to assess people and situations (honseigan 本性眼), and a relaxed, open mind (kyoshin-heiki 虚心平気).

In modern Battôjutsu, techniques (waza 技) are not only practiced as pure forms in empty space, but also applied in light or full contact training (with training weapons and appropriate protective equipment). Obstacles such as walls, pillars, stairs and passers-by are used, and improvised weapons such as thrown tea cups, overturned barrels or a small table thrown up with the foot are sometimes used.
