El Día Internacional de los Voluntarios se celebra cada 5 de diciembre, proclamado por la Asamblea General de la ONU en 1985 para reconocer las contribuciones de los voluntarios al desarrollo económico y social, y promover su labor hacia los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible.unv+1​

Origen y propósito

La fecha surgió en 1985 (Resolución 40/212) para agradecer a quienes dedican tiempo y esfuerzo de forma desinteresada, fomentando que gobiernos y organizaciones apoyen el voluntariado en temas como pobreza, salud, educación y medio ambiente.
