The Men’s Tour Of Britain Cycling 2025 starts tomorrow, Tuesday 2nd September.

And it’s on Free-To-Air TV in the UK, both Live Coverage and Highlights. Ned Boulting commentating. I am very pleased about this.

It’s on ITV4.

It is nice to have Chris Boardman is back for the final stage. He has made a superb contribution to the coverage over the years. Thank you, Chris.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with a massive night out tonight in Paris with the ITV4 team... Enjoy it.

I am already starting to feel nostalgic for the ITV4 coverage of the Tour de France.

A sad day as this year's Tour ends, as does free to air coverage on TV in the UK.
Another sport hidden from supporters, potential converts and most importantly, young people.
Thanks ITV.
I'll miss the drama, the historic heritage of the Tour and the great camera work to show off France.

@scribblanitea They might show highlights on Quest or DMAX next year. They have shown nightly highlights for Vuelta and Giro on their UK FTA channels previously. This year’s Giro was on Quest.

End of an era though. I love ITV’s Cycling coverage.

We shall miss greatly #itv4 coverage of the Tour de France #tdf . Of all the annual sporting events, this remains a fixture in our year. 3 weeks of France and velo. Yes the doping. Yes the sportswashing. But it is still a great spectacle and outstanding coverage by ITV.

As I settle in to today’s Tour De France stage I feel rather sad.

It’s the last proper stage to be covered live on UK Free-To-Air television. And the last cycling coverage from the absolutely excellent ITV Cycling Team, as the TV Rights go solely to Warner Bros Discovery and the coverage slips (likely entirely) behind a Pay Wall.

So, even though it's a lovely day outside I’ve going to watch as much of today’s coverage as I can.

A question for the #couchPeleton :
Is there an English language daily cycling #podcast covering the grand tours that is:
1) easily digested by the casual listener
2) ideally 20-30 minutes in length (definitely no more than 45)
3) doesn't major on the hosts making inane conversation with each other and doesn't have 'in jokes'.

I know I'm asking a lot, but with the loss of FTA #tdf coverage by #ITV4 next year we're considering alternatives now - particularly as we won't have reliable TV access for the next week as we're away from home.

I have just finished catching up on 2.5 hours of live coverage from today's stage of the Tour de France to Mont Ventoux.

Time well spent. What a day! 🇫🇷🚴🗻

It was even worth watching until the credits, accompanied by R.E.M.'s Man on the Moon. An inspired choice of music by #ITV4.

It may be because ITV4 in the UK won't have the rights to broadcast Tour de France coverage after 2025, but good on them for tonight's rest day recap programme.

Of note, they get into greenwashing and court cases involving TotalEnergies, a company sponsoring two teams in this year's Tour de France, including how they are getting riders to spread their propaganda.

Then an overdue report on the recent story about a Sky/Ineos staff member being associated with a doctor jailed for their role in a doping ring, as first reported by the Sunday Independent newspaper in Ireland.

Team Ineos release statement in response to Paul Kimmage article in Sunday Independent

Team Ineos have issued a 75-word statement in response to last week’s Sunday Independent story revealing links between one of the team’s senior carers and a doctor who was sent to prison for his role in a doping ring.
