I'm thinking of restarting my #podcast for learning #italian, and I'm trying to figure out how to make it sustainable without turning it into something I don't want it to be.
It did better than I expected. I never used #ads because I really dislike the whole advertising model. At the time, #patreon helped fund transcript access.
Now I've relaunched a website and made all transcripts freely available.
Il Tempo: La bugie della sinistra sull'abuso d'ufficio. Il chiarimento di FdI «Non sarà reintrodotto»
Strane interpretazioni arrivano dalla sinistra sull'approvazione da parte del Parlamento europeo della direttiva sull'anticorruzione, in modo particolare sull'abuso d'ufficio. Secondo il Movimento 5 Stelle si tratterebbe di una chiara bocciatura per il governo Meloni. Ancora più duro il Partito Democratico che parla di smantellamento della legalità da parte del nostro esecutivo.
La verità, però, è un'altra. Non solo l'esecutivo non ha svolto il proprio dovere, ma la formulazione approvata, come riportato nell'articolo 7 della stessa, lascia agli Stati membri un ampio margine di discrezionalità nell'individuazione delle condotte penalmente rilevanti e soprattutto non introduce un obbligo di reintrodurre il reato finito nel mirino dei compagni, in quanto il nostro ordinamento dispone già di un articolato sistema di reati che sanzionano condotte illecite dei pubblici ufficiali, idoneo a soddisfare i requisiti della direttiva. Di conseguenza, è giuridicamente infondato affermare che l'Italia sarà obbligata a reinserire l'abuso d'ufficio. Anzi, in fase di recepimento, non saranno necessari adempimenti da parte dell'Italia.
Soddisfatti, dunque, i partiti di maggioranza per come si è espresso l'emiciclo. «È la stessa direttiva spiega Nicola Procaccini, eurodeputato di Fratelli d'Italia e co-presidente del gruppo Ecr al Parlamento europeo in un punto stampa all'Eurocamera- che ha visto il voto favorevole del governo italiano, anche in sede di Consiglio europeo». Evidenzia, pertanto, come le polemiche sollevate da una certa parte politica siano del tutto infondate. «Francamente - evidenzia - restiamo sconcertati nella lettura che abbiamo visto su alcuni media italiani rispetto a una sconfitta del governo italiano relativamente al reato di abuso d'ufficio, che è una totale falsità».
Dello stesso parere Alessandro Ciriani, vice coordinatore per Ecr in Commissione Libe. «Non si dovrà reintrodurre in Italia - dice intervistato dal Secolo d'Italia - il reato di abuso d'ufficio. È soltanto becera propaganda, non è il contenuto della direttiva. Questa chiede soltanto agli Stati di sanzionare alcune violazioni gravi nell'esercizio delle funzioni pubbliche, lasciando piena discrezionalità su come farlo».

Strange interpretations are coming from the left regarding the European Parliament’s approval of the anti-corruption directive, particularly concerning abuse of office. According to the Five Star Movement, it would be a clear rejection of the Meloni government. The Democratic Party is even harsher, speaking of dismantling legality by our executive.
The truth, however, is different. Not only has the executive failed to fulfill its duty, but the approved formulation, as reported in Article 7 of the same, leaves member states with a wide margin of discretion in identifying behavior with criminal relevance and, above all, does not introduce an obligation to reintroduce the crime that fell under the scrutiny of colleagues, as our legal system already has a comprehensive system of crimes that sanction the illicit conduct of public officials, suitable to meet the requirements of the directive. Consequently, it is legally unfounded to assert that Italy will be obliged to reintroduce abuse of office. In fact, during the implementation phase, no actions will be required of Italy.
Therefore, the majority parties are satisfied with the way the chamber expressed itself. “It’s the same directive,” explains Nicola Procaccini, a European Parliament deputy for Brothers of Italy and co-president of the ECR group, in a press point at the Eurochamber, “which saw the favorable vote of the Italian government, also in the Council of Europe.” He highlights, therefore, how the criticisms raised by a certain political faction are entirely unfounded. “Frankly – he emphasizes – we are stunned by the reading we have seen in some Italian media regarding a defeat of the Italian government regarding the crime of abuse of office, which is a complete falsehood.”
Alessandro Ciriani, deputy coordinator for ECR in Commission Libe, shares the same opinion. “The crime of abuse of office will not be reintroduced in Italy – he says, interviewed by Il Secolo d'Italia – It’s merely crude propaganda, it’s not the content of the directive. This simply asks states to sanction certain serious violations in the exercise of public functions, leaving full discretion as to how to do so.”
