The 90s #Saskatchewan government experimented with a crowdsourced budget. Terminals were installed in malls with access to the model and data, the public could craft their own solutions, with "good ones" sent to the Ministry.

At #ITAC 95, I had lunch with Premier Roy Romanow, so I asked him, did it work?

A little too well. Many good solutions were collected, the gov't followed none of them, and that's how Roy became the next Premier.
