#ISWC2023 is coming to an end. It was wonderful to reconnect with numerous colleagues and friends in person, especially considering that the previous editions were held exclusively as online events!

Attending an abroad conference in awareness of climate crisis urgency comes with serious dissonance. Against this background I really appreciate the plans by the SWSA towards more sustainability of the #ISWC as announced at #ISWC2023 townhall. Of course, emission avoidance is better than emission compensation and ~2 flights / participant is of matter. But as also elaborated in the session, there is no realistic alternative.

Already yesterday, Maxime Lefrançois presented at #ISWC2023 "The SAREF Pipeline and Portal — An Ontology Verification Framework" showcasing the comprehensive use of #GitLab based CI/CD pipelines for the development and publication of #ontologies and #RDF data. I wished, this degree of automation would become the default in the #SemanticWeb community.
