NEW | Gaza Children to Benefit from Former Pope Francis’ Popemobile Converted into Mobile Clinic
A vehicle once used by Pope Francis during his 2014 visit to Bethlehem has been transformed into a mobile health clinic aimed at providing care for Palestinian children in Gaza.
The initiative was overseen by the Catholic organization Caritas and converts the open platform of the popemobile into a pediatric treatment area capable of serving around 200 children a day.
Christian leaders hailed the project as a sign that the world has not forgotten Gaza’s youngest victims of war. While the vehicle is ready to enter Gaza, its deployment remains uncertain due to restrictions imposed by the Israeli occupation.
