In other news, I have been planning to transfer a couple of domains from one of my VPS's back to some commodity shared hosting, partly because I've never really managed to get these sites working the way II want on the VPS, and also I don't need any of the advanced features that running my own server offeers, at least for these sites.
(And I am not, at present, really doing anything with them).
If I move them, then I can shut that VPS down, which will save me a few quid a month, and I can put some of that to S3 hosting with my host for this here Masto instance.
So, today I tried moving the DNS records.
Which didn't work, it took me ages to figure out that I moved them to another registrar earlier this year, but I was blowed if I could remember which one.
So, I've spent most of the day trying to figure out which registrar it was, which meant trying to log in to every registrar I've ever heard of, trying to see if I have an account there.
I never realised there were so many!
Anyhoo, I finally found that I had moved them to the same registrar - ironically, it was the one I first registered this domain with about 15 years ago, although with a different account!
So, I'll transfer them by putting in the IPS tag and...
Where exactly do I put the IPS tag?
I've been at this all day, achieved pretty much precisely nothing, and now I'm cooking rather than actually doing anything with this!
