Just watched a movie called I Kill Giants, which I recently added to my collection based solely on a trailer I saw by chance on a free streaming app about a month ago, having never even heard of it before. I clicked with the vibes it gave me enough to trust myself to commit blindly to it, and it indeed paid off.
Despite the title and appearances, I Kill Giants is not a fantasy adventure, but a metaphorical drama (with some fantasy elements) about an outcast middle school girl. Kind of a slow-burn story and very much character-driven, I enjoyed it. The girl playing lead did a good job carrying the film.
I also learned that the film is based on a graphic novel of the same name, which I may have to check out at some point now.
