It is a truth universally acknowledged that a researcher who has just spent an entire week talking about her research and answering critical questions from others, must be in want of a week off so she can rewrite the entire paper. 😓

Last week, I presented the work I did with prof. Kuldeep Meel and prof. Arunabha Sen at IJCAI 2023.
We showed the benefits of reducing a problem to a computationally harder problem (yes, you read that right!), by demonstrating how it allows us to solve much larger problem instances.
It was so much fun to finally share this work with so many fantastic researchers at IJCAI! Thank you to all organisers for making this conference possible. I'm also super grateful to the reviewers who gave us great feedback!
Please find our paper, slides, poster, a short video, and our open source tool, gismo, here: www.annalatour.nl/publication/2023-08-01-Solving-the-Identifying-Code-Set-Problem-with-Grouped-Independent-Support

Yesterday, at #ijcai, Micheal Wooldridge gave a talk about "How to Speak to the Public about Artificial Intelligence". Good talk, interesting stories and very funny.
Morality: "if you don't inform the public about AI, then someone who knows even less than you will."
Keep in mind that this is addressed to a public of people having or pursing a PhD in the field.
Very much enjoyed today's poster session at IJCAI! I spent over two hours asking questions and discussing science with the various presenters, and still didn't have time to look at all the posters that I found interesting!
Scrolling through my phone pictures, I realise that I took way fewer pics of posters than I should have. Oh well. We still have a few days to go :)
Thanks to all presenters for the great work!

So I collected my poster and it was so hectic that I held on to it for dear life on my way back to the office.
