Remove the IHRA definition of anti-Semitism from the Programme for Government 2025

I've just signed this petition calling on the government to remove the IHRA definition of anti-Semitism from the Programme for Government. Will you sign too?

This is old but I've only heard of it now … I've not found the outcome yet

"Jewish Council of Australia opposes Coalition’s antisemitism Bill, citing political agenda to stifle free speech on Palestine" https://www.jewishcouncil.com.au/media/jewish-council-of-australia-opposes-coalitions-antisemitism-bill-citing-political-agenda-to-stifle-free-speech-on-palestine 27 August 2024

"While we are deeply concerned about the rise of antisemitism in Australia, this Bill is not the answer. The Coalition continues to use Jews as political footballs, using fear to drive a right-wing political agenda. This Bill relies on disputed definitions and conflates criticism of Israel with antisemitism, which ultimately undermines our ability to address real instances of hate and discrimination." Dr Max Kaiser, Executive Officer of the Jewish Council of Australia

So we can't keep protesters and counter-protesters apart now? This is effectively what Falter was (otherwise why else was he there?) it seems to me. I wonder if this is a special anti-antisemitism exception or will this be the rule from now on?

When the police start discriminating positively in favour of Israel they will be discriminating (negatively) against everyone else.

The #IHRADefinition once again makes a mockery of common sense.

The Guardian

Mark Ruffalo is attacking the IHRA Definition of Antisemitism, the subtext being that it's "weaponized antisemitism" a term that we haven't heard as much in the US, but is gaining traction in the UK, one that feeds into multiple antisemitic tropes.

He supports claims that the IHRA definition's worldwide adoption is due to "lobbying efforts", which comes awfully close to "super secret Jewish puppet masters".

The first time Ruffalo got into trouble, it was about false statements about Israel. Now that it's about Jews/Jewish power, I wonder if this will be taken more seriously.
