Looks like my IETF / skateboarding post got lost in my failed mastodon upgrade. In condensed form - I blew off the IETF social and went to the Yokohama skatepark. At almost 50 years old I want to roll as much as possible before I just can't anymore. This park was pretty incredible. https://www.instagram.com/p/CqcDIh-DTNU/

I skipped the social event and managed to get some time at a great skatepark in Yokohama while at #IETF116. As I near very, very close to 50 years old I find that I really care a lot about still being able to roll on a wooden toy, but that it becomes increasingly harder on a body that has been beat up for the majority of time in its existence. Still, this was an incredible skatepark, even if I can't skate it like I could when I was 19.

simulating the trip I didn’t take to #IETF116 Yokohama last week by walking around Zurich. next stop Museum Rietberg (which has a Japanese art collection, if a smallish one)
I met Rod Van Meter sensei (@rdviii) in person at IETF 116 Yokohama. He and his team gave several talks and a Quantum Internet Lab tour for Yokohama National University. I'm "Aye"🤓 for the Quantum Internet project. Great talks! @ietf #IETF116
