Just received my first set of #KiwiEars #IEM (in-ear monitors), and wow am I impressed!

These things are VERY well made. Each ear piece has eight (8) balanced-armature drivers. The cable is braided and very resistant to tangling. No problem even while wearing my guitar. This is huge!

The sound is great - way more headroom than I'll likely ever need. Very flat sounding, with a slight "V" adding just a sprinkle of sweetening on the sub-bass and the top end.

Never harsh at volumes I can tolerate - low-end is ever-present without being cloudy or muddy - everything just shines right through.

I CANNOT WAIT to try these out on a stage during a high SPL concert.

The primary reason I chose these IEMs was because they are fairly flat, the audiophile folks say they are great for critical listening and mixing. They will be doing a lot of that, as well.

For about $350 CAD, I'm not sure there is ANYTHING at that price point that compares.

Työpäivä takana, edessä melkein neljän viikon tauon jälkeen toisen bändini treenit. Soitan siinä siis kitaraa. Amber Shadows. Meillä on kaikilla mallintavien lautojen lisäksi IEM-korvamonitorisysteemit, ja käytän sitä enimmäkseen tämän bändin treeneissä, koska ei jaksa kuskata lähetintä kahdesti viikossa treenikseltä toiselle. Toisen bändini treeniksellä voin soittaa myös vahvistimen kautta (bassoa), koska siellä ei kaikilla ole IEM:ää.

Tsekkasin juuri, että vastaanottimessa on virtaa vielä kolme palkkia neljästä, vaikka se ei ole nyt kohta kuukauteen ollut päällä, ja parit treenit takana jo sitä ennen. AA-paristojahan nuo vastaanottimet syö. Tekee vähän pahaa, kun niitä niin kuluu. Pitäisi koittaa varmaan siirtyä ladattaviin, varmasti ekologisempaa.

Pitäisi myös jaksaa kohta lähteä liikkeelle.

Illalla vielä The Boysin finaali. Tämä viides ja viimeinen kausi on kyllä ollut aika hapuileva. Kaksi ekaa olivat loistavia, mut siitä sitten on tultu tasaisesti alas. Mutta ihan mieluusti sitä on katsonut.

Its time to get myself some decent #iem in ear monitors.

I'm thinking about the #linsoul #OrchestraLite.

These will be used on VERY high spl stages.

I'm open to recommends if they come from experience.

I find this series by the #HeadphoneShow very interesting.
They go and measure how their head and ears exactly influence the sound they here.

In one of their videos they recommended that you should try a frequency sweep after using the AutoEQ feature of squig.link

Through this I think I realized that I might be quite sensitive to treble.

The green line is what feels comfortable to me and the dotted line is a target that many people feel comfortable and in some areas it is still a bit much for my ears.
