@PurpleJillybeans actually I'm not shure this one fits #swiss #SN441011 / #SEV1011 connector as it's polarity is flipped compared to #IEC60906-1 / #TypeN connectors and it 's barely mechanically incompatible!

@scriptkiddie the fact that @EUCommission and @Umweltbundesamt didn't fine #Microsoft #billions if not more for creating 100% avoidable #eWaste through #ReducedLifecycle is beyond me.

  • Seriously, the reason why the #EU did not mandate #IEC60906-1 for #PowerSockets was the fact that they expected this to cause 700.000t of avoidable eWaste and cost €100B whilst taking 75+ years...

@wyatt8740 @tauon plugs shouldn't have fuses, but your appliances and your circuit breaker!

  • Same with power switches: they belong on the device, not outlet!

If it was my decision, IEC 60906-1 and IEC 60309 would be mandatory with no permissible exceptions!

@walsonde @nano Granted, #Microsoft' #Windows11 and #CensorBoot / #TPM 2.0 requirement is creating thousands of tons of 100% avoidable #eWaste which should be banned as the #EnvoirmentalCrime it is...

Compared to the fact that @EU_Commission refused to adopt #IEC60906-1 / "#TypeN" as mandatory socket/wall outlet standard due to estimated 700.000t of eWaste production...

@topher if you think the devil fork #DS1363 is an upgrade, wait till you've used #Schuko or even better, #CEE & #IEC wall outlets and connectors!

Like #IEC60309 and #IEC60906-1 are idiot-proof by design and the latter one is just marginally wider than a #Europlug whilst supporting 16A instead of judt 2,5A as well as being polarity-safe AND grounded!

@TechConnectify And as sadly as the @EU_Commission won't adopt #IEC60906 connectors due to #eWaste I think they should make #IEC60309 mandatory for ekectric stoves and other electronics that require more than 230V @ 16A single-phase and ain't installed into the wall like some pass-through boiler/heater...

@tinyfluffs @siege

The only reason the #EU didn't make #IEC60906-1 mandatory like #USBc is because the retrofit would take 75 years and create 700.000t of otherwise 100% avoidable #eWaste per year during that time!
