@EUCommission I'd rather give up almost all online services I use to not have to go through #ageverification or #idverification - in fact this combined with looming #chatcontrol has already caused me to preemptively delete my accounts with all American BigTech companies. I won't be any kinder to European services that ask for proof of age.
We can already see Roblox's dismal growth figures. I predict a similar trend in IT and gaming as a whole, some 40-50% will opt out of many online services.

With all the #ageverification aka #idverification going around, could agentic #AI be used FOR #privacy rather than against it?
Theoretically, wouldn't you be able to poison any surveillance datasets about you by having an agentic AI doing things to weaken any "signal" surveillance bros might be looking for? E.g., every time you log onto a left leaning political forum, the AI logs in and posts something in right leaning or centrist forums as well.
Honest question, please tell me if and why not

For people that doesn't understand computers & phone devices, what are your plans when #ageverification , and #idverification in #EU gets serious while avoiding #bigtech and #bigcorps even if they try to make the use of #vpn illegal like in #utah? Is there any way to skip all of it at once in all your devices (laptop,phone)?

I'm tired of reading about how bad is the situation. I want to know what we can do, even if its little actions, and so other people can do the same. Thks!

The New York Childrens Online Safety Act will ban anyone under 18 from chatting online.

The bill specifically states that all online platforms, including video games which have a live chat feature for their users, are required to implement age verification measures, and ban anyone under the age of 18 from using communication features.

Even in the age of #ageverification or #idverification, you can still compartmentalize if you care about your #privacy!

For example,
1. for government services such as healthcare, use the #EUDI wallet. The government already knows when you use their services, so that's no loss of privacy.
2. for phone apps, use Apple's or Google's age bracket system. Iirc Apple's solution only processes documents locally. Your OS already knows which apps you use, so no loss of privacy.

Wait, the @EUCommission wants to widely roll out the #idverification #ageverification app that was just hacked twice, with bug fixes that rely on libraries that are no longer maintained. What's the rush? Why not take the time to build this right, and actually test it before releasing it?

I live in a country that already has a digital ID app with a good security track record. I love open source, but I'm not switching from the closed source, secure one to this.
