As #IDCC26 comes to a close, we'd like to take a moment to reflect on the wonderful event it was!

Here's what Cerys Willoughby had to say:

"There is always such a great atmosphere at IDCC with such an engaged and passionate audience. It was great to present and talk with the digital curation community through our workshop and poster sessions. Huge thanks to the Digital Curation Centre for working so hard and putting on such a great event!"

@ztirfhtor It discusses what reflections of participants reveal about trust/distrust in public data infrastructures, the ethical and affective dimensions of “emergency curation,” and why rapid downloading and duplication can create a false sense of closure when it isn’t paired with long-term stewardship, documentation, and accountability. Congrats @ztirfhtor!
Our colleague Laura presented a paper from her ongoing dissertation at #idcc26 and won the Runner Up Best Paper Award. The paper “Preserving Under Pressure: The 2016/17 Data Rescue Movement and the Limits of Emergency Curation” offers a retrospective analysis.

Team CaSDaR at the #IDCC26!

We had a wonderful time at the event along with our friends from the Physical Sciences Data Infrastructure (PSDI)

Thank you Digital Curation Centre for having us over!

at #idcc26 @ztirfhtor is now giving an excellent presentation on her thesis work around the first wave of data rescue work, discussing emergency curation as a boundary practice between activist urgency and curational expectations. so many great points in there about trust and distrust. I am really looking forward to reading the full thesis somewhere! Congrats on this work!
the 1st #idcc26 keynote speaker is Antica Culina, Senior Scientist at the Ruder Boskovic Institute of Zagreb. Her title is "When Digital Curation Meets Research Reality" and brings the researcher's perspective to the room.
after a busy day of workshops - including our #eosceden #eoscfidels workshop yesterday - #IDCC26 is now fully kicking off with Keven Ashely reminding people of DCC's mission: to increase capability & capacity for research data reuse in organisations through training, shared services, consultancy, events, guidance, policies and standards. Can you believe that this is the 20th anniversary of IDCC?
