Watched the Shiny Happy People documentary. My most vocal outrage was one of the women describing her experience at an IBLP training camp and having her tampons confiscated because they were sinful, "pleasure-causing", and she was slut-shamed because her "future husband should have had the privilege of tearing her hymen."

I cannot even say what I do to a person if they said this to me.

30+ yrs ago, my folks attended an IBLP conference & bought the "Character Sketches" book set for me.

I liked the pictures & animal stories. I had no idea they were IBLP until I saw the Duggar special.

Straight into the recycle bin!

Just finished watching #ShinyHappyPeople the documentary about the #IBLP #Cult and the #DuggarFamily

The information was mostly old hat to me, but it still managed to be informative and shocking. I give it a recommendation, but be warned. It covers some disturbing topics.

I finished the last instalment of the Bill Gothard and Duggar family documentary last night. It was so good.

What science, nature, history, or sociology documentaries have you all been watching lately?

I have the urge the watch more of this sort of stuff, especially if Toronto has more rainstorms like they’re predicting.
