The return home was smooth, leaving before dawn and arriving in Cincinnati with the ground covered in snow and the thermometer barely cracking double digits.

We missed the worst of the cold snap. I’m starting to think mid January is an excellent time to go on vacation.

Edie was as happy to see us. The furnace was still working. And only a few pipes froze (the hot water for two sinks that share an exterior wall). It was good to be home.
