Hyundai: No new EVs planned for Malaysia beyond Ioniq N lineup - SoyaCincau

Although the company will soon launch the Ioniq 5 N and Ioniq 6 N in our market, Hyundai has no plans to release any other EVs in Malaysia this year.

I’d wanted an electric car for a long time, but Musk’s products were a firm no. I thought I’d wait for Rivian in 2026, yet my old car was giving up faster than expected, so I ended up looking around and choosing the Ioniq 5.

The biggest advantage for me is the fast charging - 18 minutes and you’re ready to go again - a dream for someone who loves road trips. My recent drive from Minnesota to Tennessee was surprisingly easy. The advanced driver assist let me cover longer distances than I’d usually feel comfortable with. Charging breaks aligned perfectly with the moments when I needed to stretch or grab a coffee, and that trip finally cured my range anxiety.

What I didn’t expect was how comfortable it’d be to sleep in. On my last camping trip, I stayed in the car, warm and cozy all night. I’ve honestly never slept better outdoors.

A practical note for the U.S. side of things: installing a Level 2 charger at home cost around $1,500, though my utility company reimbursed part of it. Now my monthly charging cost is roughly $35 and I drive a lot.

Minnesota isn’t exactly EV heaven, especially if you love remote spots like I do, but with a bit of planning, you can make it work. More and more state parks are adding chargers too, which feels like progress that actually matters.

If you’re considering switching to an EV, feel free to ask. Before buying mine, I spent almost a month reading Reddit and watching YouTube, and after several months behind the wheel, I’ve learned a few things worth sharing
