The #Arch #Linux #AUR package of #Freenet #Hyphanet is updated, too:

The insert of #Freenet / #Hyphanet 0.7.5 build 1505 to the update key has started.
Your node should update automatically, if you have auto-update enabled.

This update is fix for a critical vulnerability. Please update -- if you can’t, disable javascript in the node web interface to mitigate the vulnerability.
If you don’t want your communication to be traced, stored in a database, and analyzed to find out whether you may protest, use a pseudonym that can’t be traced back to you.
And only tell close friends that this is you.
For example use #Sone via #Freenet / #Hyphanet.

@dthompson Maybe I should also create a video of FMS on #Freenet / #Hyphanet …
It’s been happily jugging along for 20 years now:

via https://www.hyphanet.org
… but it’s definitely not for kids.
Which gets to the actually hard requirements: discord is used by gamers. A replacement needs actually working moderation that keeps communication safe(-r than discord today). In groups.
And that’s a hard problem.
Quick look back on 2025: #Hyphanet 0.7.5 build 1504 isn’t released yet, but many improvements are merged already:

Looking forward to release them soon!
In the meantime: why not take two times 15 minutes between the years to install and try out Hyphanet?
Spin it up, install the Sone plugin, add a pseudonym, then take a break and give it an hour in the background while Sone fetches messages from other pseudonyms.
