So much wrong with this Mazda engine reformer "invention" as well as all the press accounts:↙️
1-It's a PATENT APP, not a PATENT↘️
2-Reformers make CO & CO2, not CARBON!
3-Any C "adhered" to catalyst would quickly STOP reforming reaction
4-Water vapor adsorption would quickly fill-up & STOP
5-Water vapor adsorption GIVES OFF HEAT: you CAN'T PATENT THERMODYNAMICS!
6-Cite JP2021153622A, which PYROLYZES PURE CH4 & DOES'NT REFORM GAS/DIESEL-AIR MIXES!
7- -622a DOESN'T MENTION SOLID C!

Shoot a Type IV carbon-fiber fuel cell electric vehicle #FCEV hydrogen storage tank with a small caliber bullet and it bounces off. A .50-caliber bullet makes a hole but no fire as the #hydrogen is released.⬇️
Try that with a battery pack.

Sorry Ricky @TwoBitDaVinci ↙️, the first offshore hydrogen production platform was France's 2023 Lhyfe↘️, followed by UK's 2024 Dolphyn↘️↘️.

BUT Germany's 2025 H2MARE is the 1st offshore platform making offshore #H2 & using on-board direct air captured #CO2 #DAC to make liquid fuels - Power-to-X.

There are 14 of the Cummins Accelera @AcceleraZero 2.5MW electrolyzer STACKS↙️ in the Linde Niagara Falls, NY electrolyzer SYSTEM↘️ .

Yes, biomass gasification & pyrolysis are thermal methods of generating hydrogen.
EPFL used light pulses to supply the heat.↙️
My quick calculations: the CAPEX of just the xenon strobe light subsystem to irradiate the 50μm biomass layer↘️ is US$8.5MM per kg #H2!🤑

1) Hmm, choosing onshore installation of the #BLPH sounds suspiciously like the maritime qualification could not be completed in time (or maybe ever?) given the aggressive 30-month timeline!↙️
2) BTW, the Elogen story didn't mention 1MW of Ballard #hydrogen fuel cells↘️

Green hydrogen is made commercially with green electricity using water electrolyzers, which operate for +30,000hr.

The #HYScale EU Clean Hydrogen Partnership project aims to improve catalysts and other materials, reducing electrolysis costs.↙️

BUT 330hr is not ready for a TRL5 demonstration!↘️
