Officials from Helmand province met with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) representative for the Kandahar zone, the contractor responsible for the dam’s construction, and an engineer to discuss its reconstruction.

According to a statement released by the Helmand Province Department of Information and Culture, Helmand’s Deputy Governor, Mawlawi Mohammad Nabi Hamas, and the province’s Director of Water and Energy, Mullah Mohammad Yaqub Qaim, discussed the issue of the dam's destruction and reaffirmed the reconstruction of the Check Dam during a meeting with these individuals.

The Helmand Washir Check Dam was constructed with funding from the United Nations Development Programme but was destroyed during heavy rainfall.

The UNDP representative and the contractor responsible have pledged to Helmand’s local officials to begin a survey for the reconstruction of the Washir Check Dam today, promising to take all standards into consideration during its construction.

The Islamic Emirate has repeatedly called on the international community to entrust them with reconstruction projects to ensure the work is carried out to a high standard.

Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that during talks with Iranian President Masoud Barzani, he expressed sadness over the killing of Iranian citizens in attacks by the United States and Israel.

Shehbaz Sharif wrote: “In these discussions, in addition to resolving the current crisis, I emphasized unity among nations and reaffirmed my commitment to playing a constructive role in resolving problems.”

Responding to these statements, Habib Ghafoori, the spokesman for the Afghan Ministry of Information and Culture, said this is a blatant hypocrisy – you declared Trump a hero during the ongoing atrocities in Palestine.

Mr. Ghafoori, referring to the attack by the Pakistani military on the major treatment center in Kabul, in which more than 400 patients were martyred, wrote: “You did not show mercy to any vulnerable group in this attack, and you did not even respect the month of Ramadan.”

Ghafoori, addressing Shehbaz Sharif, wrote: “This is a source of shame for you, and the atrocities you have committed on Afghan soil will be counted among the worst examples in history.”

The spokesman for the Ministry of Information and Culture called Shehbaz Sharif’s statements on unity among nations shameful and blatant hypocrisy.

The Ministry of National Defense confirmed that Afghan Air Force personnel targeted a military facility named "Hamza" in the Faizabad area, affiliated with Pakistan's capital, Islamabad, in a drone strike.

The ministry wrote in a video release that the facility was targeted around 5:00 PM this evening.

According to the ministry, the facility's commander was also targeted in the attack, resulting in significant losses of personnel and equipment for the enemy.

Pakistan’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, told Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in a telephone conversation, referring to the attack on the US embassy in Riyadh, that Iran should not carry out attacks on Saudi Arabia.

He emphasized the importance of the security agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, claiming that his telephone contact with Amir-Abdollahian has led to a decrease in Iranian attacks on Saudi Arabia.

Tehran, which has been under intense attacks from the United States and Israel over the past four days, has asked Islamabad to guarantee that Saudi soil will not be used against Iran.

Renowned Indian religious scholar Mufti Salman Ahmed Nadvi has criticized the Pakistani military in his recent statements.

Salman Ahmed Nadvi stated that the current system in Pakistan works for the interests and goals of the United States and the Israeli regime rather than its own people.

The Deputy Spokesman of the Islamic Emirate, Mullah Hamdullah Furtat, dismissed a UN report regarding civilian casualties in the country as inaccurate.

Mr. Furtat stated that civilians are occasionally targeted by the Pakistani army along the Durand Line, citing the airstrike on players in Paktika as a clear example.

The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), in its recent report, stated that 613 civilians were killed or injured due to attacks by the Pakistani army during the past year (2025).

The UNAMA report indicates that this is the highest number of civilian casualties inflicted on Afghan civilians by Pakistan in the last 15 years.

The report's findings show that in just the last three months of 2025, 70 civilians were killed and 478 others injured in attacks by the Pakistani army.
