Houston Attorney Tony Buzbee is representing hundreds of restaurant owners who reported they lost thousands of dollars worth of food that went bad when the power went off. Employees who were out of work for a week also lost money.
It took a matter of hours, maybe even minutes, for Hurricane Beryl to knock out power for more than 2.2 million customers in the Houston region. Residents might have to spend 15 years paying for the restoration costs incurred by CenterPoint.
