I got a new hummingbird feeder a few weeks ago. It's different from all the others I've had. It has a perch, no plastic flowers, and slots (not holes) where the birds extract the nectar. The slots are advertised as bee and wasp resistant.

The hummingbirds seem OK with it.

"JOGging."

"Why?"

"It’s good exercise."

Hummingbird flew around my head, keeping pace with me as we rounded the JOG in the trail..

"You make that look easy," I said.

"Uses lots of calories."

"Why do it then?"

"Exercise."

"Oh."

"And to JOG your memory."

"Of what?"

"The feeder. You need to fill it."
