I've been a long-time advocate for #HumaneTechnology. Social coding commons adds something to that to become "humane and harmonious technology". Humane by default. #Humanity is an intrinsic value of the movement. And harmonious by #SocialCoding. Coding is social, and first of all deals with people coordinating to find solutions that align with and satisfy stakeholder needs. Coding happens somewhere in the process, an impl detail.

Together this completely avoids a pure technology-driven development, ensuring Needs-driven development, and a natural NIMBY of inhumane technology and practices.

feeling disgusted while listening to a conversation with army officials and the Center for #HumaneTechnology about about how #AI warfare can be more "ethical".
wtf?? how did the bar drop so low?? "humane" my ass. definitely going to stop taking CHT seriously & redirect my attention to grassroots & labor movements like #NoTechforApartheid & the #TechWorkersCoalition.
The more I learn about #HumaneTechnology, the more sensitive I become of greedy decisions like this.
They could have at least buried a setting under the Apple TV+ section of the Settings app, but nope.
Another excellent podcast from the Center for Humane Technology. Children are being negatively affected by social media and we need to advocate for change. ‘Moms for Humane Technology’, pay attention and get more active.
