Il 20 giugno 2026 l’avvocato curdo Javad Alikurdi è stato condannato in Iran a 18 anni di carcere, all’interdizione permanente dalla professione forense, a 2 anni di divieto di espatrio e a 2 anni di esilio interno. Era stato arrestato il 12 dicembre 2025 dopo aver chiesto chiarezza sulla morte sospetta del fratello, l’avvocato Khosrow Alikurdi, deceduto il 5 dicembre 2025.

Il 2 maggio 2026 l’avvocata curda Golaleh Vatandoost è stata trasferita nel carcere centrale di Sanandaj per iniziare a scontare una condanna a 6 anni, 7 mesi e 20 giorni di carcere. Era stata perseguita dopo aver assunto la difesa di persone arrestate durante le proteste nazionali dell’autunno 2022. La sentenza è stata confermata in appello ed è ora esecutiva.

Il 12 giugno 2026 Tayebeh Nazari Makkiabadi, madre della giovane avvocata #MaryamArvin, è stata condannata a 5 anni di carcere dal Tribunale Rivoluzionario di Mashhad. Maryam, arrestata durante le proteste del 2022 per aver assistito legalmente i manifestanti, morì poco dopo il rilascio in circostanze mai chiarite. Nazari era stata arrestata durante una commemorazione per l’avvocato dei diritti umani Khosrow Alikurdi.
