What about 6h? That's the new world record, with a fully-faired bicycle, completed by Francesco Russo from Switzerland a few weeks ago, on a car test track in Germany. This record has just been certified.

I will neither confirm nor deny purchasing a treadle driven scroll saw, a Miller's Fall 387. Will need restoration to work. The drive wheel mounted on a stand could be mounted back on the saw, and a wood or metal arm attached to a wooden platform on a hinge. #humanpower

Maybe the first and last time you will ever see someone who has rigged up a treadle to generate DC power. (Not very efficient! A bicycle is a lot easier). Good exercise though, ha ha. #humanpower #treadle

Aha, found the scavenged treadmill motor. Now, to figure out how to mount this. I wonder if it's better to have the treadle belt over the flywheel (like a sewing machine, big diameter) instead of where the serpentine belt used to go.... probably will have to drill some belt holes to hold everything together to the wood top. #projects #humanpower #solarpunk

Hahahahaha got the treadle working again! They had spray painted it all and locked the joints in place. Unbolted and rebolted things, reinforced the frame with some scrap wood, attached to the table, and lubricated with TriFlow lubricant (which has Teflon in it). Worked it until it started moving. Now to drill holes in the table and get another belt or two. #humanpower #treadle

New challenge accepted. Estate sale treadle base with no attached top (random top was on it being used for antique display) which was being used decoratively. Now to figure out how to attach this and make it work, mechanically (alignment will be required, I think). Then, will figure out how to use the treadle to drive a salvaged motor from a treadmill to charge a 12V battery. Or, can mate this with the next treadle powered sewing machine that crops up at the right price. #humanpower #projects
