US millionaire big-game hunter dies after being crushed by elephants

You don't often hear about wild animals scoring a win quite like this in human-animal conflict. When it involves a rich, entitled knob who thinks committing gun crimes against animals is "sport", that's a reason for celebration.

The serial killer, who had a history of murdering elephants and lions, had invaded the territory of five adult female elephants and a baby elephant. The adults successfully defended their young. They had to act quickly, so in lieu of the traditional means of dispensing with an unwanted millionaire by guillotine, they improvised and trampled him to death. Contrary to popular belief, the soles of elephants' feet are very sensitive, so I hope they didn't experience any discomfort from stepping on the trash.

Übrigens haben wir uns gestern im Live-Stream von #RobertMarcLehmann die Gewinnerfotos von den National Geographic Wildlife Photographer of the Year angeschaut. Eine Fotostrecke fand ich besonders emotional und sehr gut, weil der Fotograf immer schonungslos den Mensch-Natur-Tier-Konflikt einfängt und das 'bigger picture' dahinter zu sehen ist. Mich hat die Fotostrecke von ihm zum diesjährigen Contest total berührt (man kann das wohl leider nicht öffentlich sehen).

Das erste Foto, das man auf der Fotografenseite sieht, ist über einen Piloten, der für den Virunga Nationalpark arbeitet.
Über ein Foto eines in den Armen seines Pflegers sterbenden Menschenaffen, ein prämiertes Foto für den diesjährigen Contest, und auch über die Fotostrecke sind wir im Stream auf den Film "Virunga" gekommen, der die Geschichte um den Kampf zum Schutz des gleichnamigen Nationalparks erzählt.
Der Film ist schon von 2014, aber ich kannte den bisher nicht.
Laut Robert soll der Film sehr gut sein.
